As with our previous design contests, the winning entries will be implemented in-game for players to obtain in the future. It also confirmed the top four weapons will eventually appear in game. Finally, it closed out by reminding people what all of the winners and finalists get.

All participants submitted their own weapon concepts to the company that decided on two big winners for each weapon. The winners of last year’s FFXIV Weapon Design Contest are in. Square Enix conducted the contest from August to October 2021. However, selection of the winners of the weapon design contest happened at the end of March 2022. This week saw the formal announcement via the Lodestone official blog. And thanks to the “astounding number” of entries received, the development team opted to select two grand prize winners for each job in the running. Both winning designs will be implemented in-game in the future, additionally, grand prize winners and finalists received the “Great Paraserpent” umbrella accessory.

The team will select winners in late December 2022 and notify them in January 2023. Besides the Grand Prize winners of the FFXIV Weapon Design contest, there were also finalists and runners-up. Even Blue Mages have a weapon from the FFXIV Weapon Design contest. Winners Keto and Kizashi designed the “Gentle Umbrella” and “Wonder of Showtime” canes.

Entries submitted outside of the Submission Form page will not be eligible. The FINAL FANTASY XIV Development and Operations teams will select the 100 winning entries from all categories combined. Winner announcement is planned to be done via the Lodestone in or around April 2023. You must possess an active FFXIV account at the time of submission and agree to the criteria written below. By submitting an entry, you confirm that you have read and agree to the terms and conditions below, and that you are eligible to participate. The works are pretty impressive, and the finalists all had interesting ideas.

The development team will then select winning designs to appear in Final Fantasy XIV. Winners and runners-up will receive various prizes, including exclusive and premium cosmetics.
